So this is a post to all the geeks reading this in SoCal. We’re Back!! Well, at least I’m back! Geeking in Sandals. It’s been over a year since my good friend who started this site had to move away and hand over the reigns and I’ve done absolutely nothing with it. Well, not anymore!
This is my own personal call to action to let everyone know that this site is still alive and available for you. Now, most people would probably say “Why not just write reviews on Yelp?” Well, for those conforming internet socialists I have a few reasons. For starters, here in the twenty first century, it is popular knowledge that when one “geeks” it could be about a multitude of different things, be it playing M:TG , collecting and reading comics, maybe finding the next issue to that elusive manga you’ve been reading online, or finding an LED light in the right color for your next prop or costume and like a million other tings I’ve forgot to mention. All of these things are so different and wonderful and they’re all just handled under the title of “Geek.” So that’s what this site is about. It’s more than just a review site its more about helping people get connected to a community of common interests where they can feel like there’s more to what they love than just the internet.
So you’re probably reading this and wondering, well how often should I check this site or how can I help and get this moving. Well to both questions I have answers. Well in foresight there is a Facebook page that you can like and follow where I will link new posts (including this one) in addition I’ve just setup a Twitter account so you can follow for updates, questions of the week, and any other events we can think of. Though finally what is going to keep this website going is its’ readers, if you have any suggestions to places we should visit, review or recommend. You can reach us through any of the outlets I just mentioned or, if you’re old fashioned, just send an email to: geekinginsandals (dot) gisc (at) gmail (dot) com (make fun of the G-mail but wait till you want to try to do this in the current economic climate!)
